As we age, wrinkles, lines and folds appear on our faces. This is caused by a number of factors, from the environment to genetics. Dermal fillers are designed to help smooth away wrinkles and lines by adding volume under your skin where it is needed the most.
What is a dermal filler?
Dermal filler is a smooth injectable gel made from synthesised hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body.
How do Dermal Fillers work?
Dermal Fillers are used to fill out lines and softly restore the fullness of the lips, cheeks and other areas on the face. All products work to naturally enhance facial features, giving long-lasting, yet non-permanent results. Dermal fillers can give your skin volume and hydration and in turn diminish the depth of wrinkles, creating a more refreshed facial appearance.
How long does the dermal filler last?
Individual results will vary, however dermal filler typically lasts up to 12 months to most areas of the face, however filler to the lip area may only last up to 6 months.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment itself is relatively quick and can take around 30-40 minutes.
How quickly will I see results?
The results can be seen immediately.
Can dermal fillers cause side effects?
Dermal fillers have been used for many years and are generally tolerated well, however, some common injection-related reactions might occur. While the majority of clients experience no side effects at all, as with all medications and medical procedures side effects can occur. Possible side effects may include swelling, pain, itching, bruising, lumps and bumps. Typically though, these reactions are resolved within a few days.
